Significance of 13th July:



Kashmir Martyrs' Day or Kashmir Day, observed in remembrance of 21 Muslim protesters killed on 13 July 1931 by Dogra forces of the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir.

1956- The Dartmouth workshop is the first conference on artificial intelligence.

1974- India played their first ODI against England at Headingley.

2011- United Nations Security Council Resolution 1999 is adopted, which admits South Sudan to member status of United Nations.

2014- Germany wins the 2014 FIFA World Cup defeating Argentina in the final following a 1-0 win after extra time.

2016- Prime Minister of the United Kingdom David Cameron resigns, and is succeeded by Theresa May.

1863- Margaret Alice Murray was an Anglo-Indian Egyptologist, archaeologist, anthropologist, historian, and folklorist. Murray's work in Egyptology and archaeology was widely acclaimed and earned her the nickname of "The Grand Old Woman of Egyptology".

1900- Chhabi Biswas was an Indian actor, primarily known for his performances in Tapan Sinha's Kabuliwala and Satyajit Ray's films Jalshaghar, Devi and Kanchenjungha.

2004- Nihal Sarin is an Indian chess grandmaster and chess prodigy. He achieved the title of ‘Grandmaster’ at the age of 14.

2007-  K. K. Mahajan was an Indian cinematographer who was known for his work in Parallel Cinema. His last release was Yaar Meri Zindagi starring Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Sinha.

Significance of 01st July:
