Significance of 01st July:



National Doctors’ Day is celebrated on 1st July all over India to honour the legendary physician and the second Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. This day is also meant to commemorate the importance of doctors in our lives. The theme for National Doctors' Day 2025 is "Behind the Mask: Who Heals the Healers?” - This theme highlights the mental and emotional well-being of doctors and the need for support systems for them.


The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) was established on 1st July 1949 and so in India is marked as Chartered Accountants Day. It is the second-largest professional accounting and finance body in the world.


National Postal Worker Day is observed every year on 1st July to thank and appreciate all men and women who work consistently and diligently to deliver all our mail and packages.

1865- Haranath Bandyopadhyay or Thakur Haranath, a Baisnab saint, great Reformer and a Saviour. He was  born in Sonamukhi in the District of Bankura of Bengal Province (West Bengal).  

1882- Bidhan Chandra Roy was an eminent Indian physician, educationist, philanthropist, freedom fighter and politician.

1936-  Asok Kumar Barua was an Indian condensed matter physicist and the honorary Emeritus Professor of Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur, who focused on research in optics and optoelectronics. 

1938- Hariprasad Chaurasia is an Indian music director and classical flautist, who plays the bansuri, in the Hindustani classical tradition.

1940- Hakim Syed Zillur Rahman is an Indian scholar of Unani medicine. The Government of India awarded him the Padma Shri for his contribution to Unani Medicine in 2006.

1949- Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu is an Indian politician who served as the 13th vice president of India from 11 August 2017 to 11 August 2022.

1953- Pandit Venkatesh Kumar is an Indian Hindustani vocalist. Kumar belongs to the Kirana and Gwalior Gharana.

1960- Sudesh Bhosle is an Indian playback singer who primarily sings for Bollywood films. Bhosale is known for his ability to mimic actor Amitabh Bachchan, having sung for him in various films.

1962- Bidhan Chandra Roy was an Indian physician and politician who served as Chief Minister of West Bengal from 1950 until his death in 1962.

1982- Kamal Ram was an Indian recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. He was the second-youngest Indian recipient of the award.
