Significance of 9th May:



According to English calendar Rabindranath Tagore was born on 7th May 1861 in Kolkata to parents Debendranath Tagore and Sarada Devi. However, as per the Bengali calendar, Rabindra Jayanti will be observed on May 9 this year. Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti 2025 commemorates the 164th birth anniversary of the versatile Bengali Poet, known for his literary contributions. In 1913, he was honoured with Nobel Prize in Literature. He also established Visva-Bharati University in Santiniketan, West Bengal.
