Significance of 22nd March:



World Water Day is an annual UN observance day that highlights the importance of freshwater. This day is used to advocate for the sustainable management of freshwater resources.


Bihar Diwas or Bihar Day, is celebrated on March 22 to mark the formation of the state of Bihar. It is a public holiday in the state. On this day, the British carved out the state of Bihar from Bengal in 1912.

1977- Indira Gandhi resigned as the Prime Minister of India.

1982- NASA's Space Shuttle Columbia is launched from the Kennedy Space Center on its third mission, STS-3.

1894- Surya Sen was an Indian revolutionary and played a significant role in the Indian independence movement against British rule. He is best known for leading the Chittagong Armoury Raid in 1930.

1918- Amiya Bhushan Majumdar was an Indian novelist, short-story writer, essayist and playwright.

2005- Ramasamy Ganesan was an Indian actor who worked mainly in Tamil cinema.
