Significance of 1st February:



Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present her eighth consecutive Union Budget in the parliament on February 1, 2025 at 11 am.


On 1st February, The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) celebrates its foundation day. This year, the Indian Coast Guard is celebrating its 49th Raising Day.  Indian Coast Guard has played a significant role in securing the Indian Coasts and enforcing regulations within the Maritime Zones of India.

1893- Thomas A. Edison finishes construction of the first motion picture studio, the Black Maria in West Orange, New Jersey.

1950- The first prototype of the MiG-17 makes its maiden flight.

1963-  A male peafowl or  peacock (Pavo cristatus) was declared the National Bird of India because of its rich religious and legendary involvement in Indian traditions.

2005- King Gyanendra of Nepal carries out an illegal and overt attempt by a military organization  to capture the democracy, becoming Chairman of the Councils of ministers.
